October 2020 Business bootcamp
The brief
Increasing brand awareness and generating leads at the beginning of a global pandemic is no easy feat, particularly when your target market is HR professionals and business leaders – the very people who are bearing the full weight of some of the toughest calls and hardest decisions of all.
At a time when every self-appointed thought leader was offering their unsolicited advice creating cut-through was always going to be key.
With two weeks’ notice, we decided to put together a business bootcamp that would genuinely add value for shift-based workforces, and provide meaningful content that went deeper than the ubiquitous health and hygiene blogs and surface-level crisis management webinars that flooded the internet at the time.
The approach
Our business bootcamp provided motivation and inspiration to drive positive action at a time that was both overwhelming and distressing for many. In just two short weeks, we arranged speakers, put together interviews, videos, podcasts, articles, workbooks and more, with topics ranging from neuroscience of leadership, to business innovation, to financial management. We successfully launched the event exactly two weeks after its inception.
Speakers and contributors included:
- Dominique Lamb, CEO of the National Retail Association
- Tanya Titman, Head of Strategic Innovation at BDO
- Alexander de Wit, Entrepreneur, investor and advisor (vitaminwater, Oatly!)
- Wendy Alberts, CEO of the Restaurant Association of South Africa
- Megan Larnach-Jones, People and Projects Director at WHSmith
- Manish Singh, Founder of Sensational Intelligence
- Emily Haydon, Founder of The Talent Connective
- Alison Berry, Operations Manager at PS Cafe
- Dr Alan McCabe, Chief Technical Officer at Roubler.
The results
Our participants joined in the bootcamp with an enthusiasm that translated into sales.
- 300 bootcamp signups
- Contributed to the biggest sales months ever from June-August 2020
- $27,000 in monthly recurring revenue.
